flycatchers
Hi My three year old Brocchinia reducta is now flowering and judging by the colour of the leaves the plant may well now be dieing. I know this is normal but had assumed that new plants would develop which could be separated and grown on. Should these appear before the main plant dies as there is no sign of any new growth? cheers bill
David Ahrens
It should , eventually, produce pups. I shouldn't worry too much at the moment.

Steve Stewart
Alas dead- and no pups! bill I am sorry to hear that your Brocchinia died! It is important for growers to dry flowering Brocchinia reducta plants roots out completely before rewatering! When B. reducta flowering is finished it doesn't harm the plants to empty the water out of the center. When grown with proper culture this species forms large orange roots that will fill a 2liter container. Take care, Steven Stewart Florida, USA
